An attempt to furniture-ize Chinese characters, HanZi. As pictographs, HanZi has evolved through the figures of things. And the initial simple unity between form and function provides potential for project development. The structural nature and the horizontal-vertical attribution of HanZi led to the consideration of wooden boards and screw assemblies. It is my process of re-learning HanZi in a foreign land, exploring the spatial relationships between strokes, the overlapping of semanteme and functions. By packed the process in a instruction brochure of morden production system, a vibrant lesson on HanZi is ready.
